Hebrews 2:1, 3 NASB
For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what
we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it... how will we
escape if we neglect so great a salvation?...
we must be alert and be clear on the Word of God and the
gospel of salvation we have heard to remain true to what it says so that
we will not neglect it. it must be a conscious effort on our part to
pay special attention to it and not be lazy and just receive it
flippantly.
