2 Chronicles 31:21 NASB
Every work which he began in the service of the house of God in law and in commandment, seeking his God, he did with all his heart and prospered.

everything that Hezekiah did was done through seeking the Lord and he did it to the best of his abilities and the Lord blessed him. may I seek the Lord from the start in all that I do and do it in faith with conviction and passion for His name.

2 Chronicles 30:8-9 NASB
Now do not stiffen your neck like your fathers, but yield to the Lord and enter His sanctuary which He has consecrated forever, and serve the Lord your God, that His burning anger may turn away from you. For if you return to the Lord , your brothers and your sons will find compassion before those who led them captive and will return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate, and will not turn His face away from you if you return to Him."

when we hear the Lord calling us back to worship Him, if we are not stubborn in our pride but humble ourselves, His grace and compassion will cover us and He will demonstrate His forgiveness. when the word of discipline of the Lord comes to us, we must die to our pride and repent and will receive forgiveness as the Lord is gracious. let me constantly check myself for pride and unrepentance.

2 Chronicles 29:34-35 NASB
But the priests were too few, so that they were unable to skin all the burnt offerings; therefore their brothers the Levites helped them until the work was completed and until the other priests had consecrated themselves. For the Levites were more conscientious to consecrate themselves than the priests. There were also many burnt offerings with the fat of the peace offerings and with the libations for the burnt offerings. Thus the service of the house of the Lord was established again.

when the people offered sacrifices and offering to the Lord they offered generously and joyfully and with thanksgiving. the Lord is established upon the offering that comes from our hearts to worship Him. may I offer Him generously without restraint so that He will be glorified especially in the area of my time for people.

2 Kings 18:5-8 NASB
He trusted in the Lord , the God of Israel; so that after him there was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor among those who were before him. For he clung to the Lord ; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the Lord had commanded Moses. And the Lord was with him; wherever he went he prospered. And he rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him. He defeated the Philistines as far as Gaza and its territory, from watchtower to fortified city.

Hezekiah trusted the Lord and held tightly to His commandments and thus the Lord was with Him. as such he was blessed. he did not serve other nations but triumphed over them. when we trust and obey the Lord and hold on to Him tightly as our lifeline,  we will not need to trust in self made things and will instead receive His victory and blessing. I have to learn to trust in the Lord fully and not trust in my own strength.

Isaiah 26:3 NASB
"The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You.

those who put their trust in You will be kept in perfect peace. we will have peace when we put our trust in the Lord and set our minds on Him. let me fix my mind on the Lord and when I worry may I first check where or in what am I putting my trust in and be drwan back to God.

Isaiah 25:8-9 NASB
He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord God will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the Lord has spoken. And it will be said in that day, "Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the Lord for whom we have waited; Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation."

the Lord will redeem His people and He has spoken so it is a truth. and we can wait in that hope of glory of when He returns. our guilt shame and disappointment will all be wiped away as the Lord has promised so we know we can live a life looking towards the day when we ultimately return into his arms and that spurs me on to live in humble expectation as I face the daily struggles of life.

Isaiah 24:13-14 NASB
For thus it will be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, As the shaking of an olive tree, As the gleanings when the grape harvest is over. They raise their voices, they shout for joy; They cry out from the west concerning the majesty of the Lord.

even in the midst of great darkness over the earth, there are those who shout out and declare His majesty. when there is darkness over situations in our lives, we must still choose to declare His majesty and sovereignty over tbe situation.

Isaiah 22:8, 11 NASB
And He removed the defense of Judah. In that day you depended on the weapons of the house of the forest... And you made a reservoir between the two walls For the waters of the old pool. But you did not depend on Him who made it, Nor did you take into consideration Him who planned it long ago.

when Judah was invaded, the people depended on their own strength might and abilities but they did not depend on the Lord. when we face trials what is our respond? to depend on our own wisdom and strength or depend on the almighty God who has everything in His control? may my first response be to call out upon His name ane depend on Him.

Feb 22

Isaiah 20:2 NASB
at that time the Lord spoke through Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, "Go and loosen the sackcloth from your hips and take your shoes off your feet." And he did so, going naked and barefoot.

Isaiah a prophet of the Lord went naked and barefoot for 3 years in obedience to what the Lord spoke to him. when the Lord speaks to us do we consider what He says as more important or consider our 'face' as something more important? for me going naked means being genuine with a colleague who is less well liked and really be a friend to him and meet his needs.

Isaiah 19:22 NASB
The Lord will strike Egypt, striking but healing; so they will return to the Lord , and He will respond to them and will heal them.

the Lord is merciful where in His mercy He disciplines us so that we may turn back to Him and He will respond to us to heal us of our brokenness. when I face discipline it is always an opportunity for reconciliation and healing as I turn away from rebellion and towards Him.

Feb 20

Isaiah 17:10 NASB
For you have forgotten the God of your salvation And have not remembered the rock of your refuge. Therefore you plant delightful plants And set them with vine slips of a strange god.

the Israelites have forgotten the God who brought them out of Egypt and have turned to other gods. falling out of faith comes easily as we put our trust in attractive things in this world like our careers, our own abilities or wealth. but the result of that is we will not reap the eternal things. let me come before the cross and the God of my salvation every day and every moment and not place my trust in false gods.

Feb 19

Isaiah 16:6, 12 NASB
We have heard of the pride of Moab, an excessive pride; Even of his arrogance, pride, and fury; His idle boasts are false... So it will come about when Moab presents himself, When he wearies himself upon his high place And comes to his sanctuary to pray, That he will not prevail.

the pride of Moab cause his ways not to prevail against the Lord. the proud will not be able to stand before our God. let me come humbly before Him always and seek Him in all that I do not just being preoccupied with my plans and purposes always asking in my heart 'where is His spirit leading me right now? '.

Feb 18

Isaiah 14:27 NASB
For the Lord of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it? And as for His stretched-out hand, who can turn it back?"

the plans of the Lord cannot be frustrated and will come to past. we can be confident that whatever plans the Lord reveals to us or in His word it will bear fruition. I can depend on Him to do what He has promised of my life.

Isaiah 13:6-7 NASB
Wail, for the day of the Lord is near! It will come as destruction from the Almighty. Therefore all hands will fall limp, And every man's heart will melt.

when the Lord appears before sinners to destroy they will fall at His feet and we will have no words to defend but will be full of fear. the Lord in His glory is Holy and mighty and there is no way we can stand in His presence except through the blood of Jesus. may I come before Him each day to the cross and be covered in His blood and righteousness.

2 Kings 17:14-16 NASB
However, they did not listen, but stiffened their neck like their fathers, who did not believe in the Lord their God. They rejected His statutes and His covenant which He made with their fathers and His warnings with which He warned them. And they followed vanity and became vain, and went after the nations which surrounded them, concerning which the Lord had commanded them not to do like them. They forsook all the commandments of the Lord their God and made for themselves molten images, even two calves, and made an Asherah and worshiped all the host of heaven and served Baal.

the israelites rebelled against the Lord and were stubborn in their sinful ways. they did not follow the ways of the Lord but chose the ways of the world. when we are proud and stubborn we will not choose to listen to God but to follow our own ways. may I walk humbly and choose to listen to the commands of the Lord.

Michah 7:18-20 NASB
Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity And passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in unchanging love. He will again have compassion on us; He will tread our iniquities under foot. Yes, You will cast all their sins Into the depths of the sea. You will give truth to Jacob And unchanging love to Abraham, Which You swore to our forefathers From the days of old.

the Lord is merciful and will remember our sins no more. we can confidently come before Him when we come to seek His loving mercy and He will deposit His truth into our lives. with knowledge of such an unchanging love I want to live a righteous life that pleases my Lord knowing He has forgiven my iniquities and will forgive me when I fall.

Feb 14

Michah 6:8 NASB
He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?

the Lord require of us the following: doing what is good and right, being merciful and humble. to live for the Lord we need to constantly check our lives in this 3 areas and ask of His grace to be righteous even when it is tempting to follow the world's standard, always forgive and show love and putting others before ourselves.

Feb 13

Michah 1:2 NASB
Hear, O peoples, all of you; Listen, O earth and all it contains, And let the Lord God be a witness against you, The Lord from His holy temple.

the Lord before we brings about His punishment always warns israel and her people about what was to happen. God is a god of grace and He even extends His warning first to people in the purpose of turning them away from their rebellion. may I heed the warnings in the word of the Lord and live out a life of wisdom before Him.

Feb 12

Isaiah 12:2 NASB
"Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the Lord God is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation."

when we trust and fear the Lord we will not fear the things of this world and we can ultimately find strength in Him. I need to trust in Him fully and fear Him only even if that means I have to let go of the ways I am used to.

Feb 11

Isaiah 11:3 NASB
And He will delight in the fear of the Lord , And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make a decision by what His ears hear;

the fear of the Lord will affect how we judge things through what we see and hear. we must go beyond the natural to being guided by His spirit in the fear of the Lord. I must constantly go back to depend on the spirit and ask for the fear of the Lord (not fear of men) to guide me in what I think, say and do.

Feb 10

Isaiah 10:20 NASB
Now in that day the remnant of Israel, and those of the house of Jacob who have escaped, will never again rely on the one who struck them, but will truly rely on the Lord , the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah prophesies on the destruction and downfall of Israel and at the end of it the promise is that there will be a remnent that will depend on the Lord almighty. the Lord allowed Israel to go through all the suffering is to bring about His good and perfect plan of redemption for His nation and get them to rely on Him only. the Lord's plan is for our good and we have to trust in Him as it is to disciple us and train us in our walk with the Lord.

Isaiah 9:7 NASB
There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.

the Lord's kingdom of peace will be established and this is His desire which He will do. we can be sure that God's kingdom will one day be fully established and it is not of our doing but that the Lord will accomplish it. so we must trust His word and live out our lives with His kingdom in us by upholding justice and righteousness in wherever we are.

Isaiah 8:12-13 NASB
"You are not to say, ' It is a conspiracy!' In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy, And you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of it. "It is the Lord of hosts whom you should regard as holy. And He shall be your fear, And He shall be your dread.

we should not fear what the world fears but fear the Lord God almighty for He is holy. we must have a reverence for our Lord and not put our trust in anything less than on Him and His character. I worry about work, life and even ministry but I should instead fear the Lord and fix my eyes on Him amd trust Him always.

Feb 7

Isaiah 7:7 NASB
thus says the Lord God : "It shall not stand nor shall it come to pass.

the Lord's word is final and whatever He says He will do and it will happen. we can trust God's word fully because He is trustworthy. I need not doubt that I am His child and He loves me and that I can put my full trust in His good will for my life. I must trust in His everlasting word and not the judgements people make of me.

Feb 6

Isaiah 6:3 NASB
And one called out to another and said, "Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory."

our Lord is Holy and when we view His creation we witness His splendor and glory. may I enjoy and appreciate the glory of the Lord when I look at the works of His hands and the nature around me so that I am filled with awe and wonder at Him.

Feb 5

Isaiah 5:7 NASB
For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel And the men of Judah His delightful plant. Thus He looked for justice, but behold, bloodshed; For righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress.

the Lord cultivated Israel and did what was necessary for her to be fruitful. yet they were found wanting and there were no fruits of righteousness and peace. the Lord has given us His word and His Holy Spirit to help us live out a transformed life but when the Lord looks for me His child will there be justice and righteousness? I have to examine my actions through the Holy Spirit which will reveal the truth in my life.

Feb 4

Isaiah 4:4 NASB
When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and purged the bloodshed of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and the spirit of burning,

His spirit of judgement is not to punish us but to cleanse us from our sins. it is by grace that we can receive His discipline. the Lord never lets us go yet always seeks to redeem us and we must be thankful and hold on to Him in times when we receive discipline.

Feb 3

Isaiah 3:10-11 NASB
Say to the righteous that it will go well with them,  For they will eat the fruit of their actions. Woe to the wicked! It will go badly with him,  For what he deserves will be done to him.

the righteous will reap the fruits of his righteousness and similarly the wicked will receive his reward of suffering. in the perfect will and plan of God ultimately His justice will prevail. so we must continue to sow the seeds of righteousness and trust the Lord in His sovereignty. may I continue to pursue what is right and good whether it is inconvenient or tough. especially speaking out for righteousness and acting in love at all times.

Feb 2

Isaiah 2:12-17 NASB
For the Lord of hosts will have a day of reckoning  Against everyone who is proud and lofty And against everyone who is lifted up, That he may be abased. And it will be against all the cedars of Lebanon that are lofty and lifted up, Against all the oaks of Bashan, Against all the lofty mountains, Against all the hills that are lifted up, Against every high tower, Against every fortified wall, Against all the ships of Tarshish And against all the beautiful craft. The pride of man will be humbled And the loftiness of men will be abased; And the Lord alone will be exalted in that day,

there will be a day of reckoning against every high and lofty thing that men put their faith in that is not of the Lord and nothing will stand up against His might and splendor. the Lord is our solid rock in whom we can place our faith in and there is no other eternal security we can find other than in Him. may I surrender every idol that is in my life especially my security in finance and the need to know and be in control.

Isaiah 1:14-17 NASB
"I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts, They have become a burden to Me; I am weary of bearing them. "So when you spread out your hands in prayer,  I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you multiply prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are covered with blood. "Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Reprove the ruthless, Defend the orphan, Plead for the widow.

the Lord hates our religiosity. it is a burden to Him and He will hide His face from us even when we pray religiously. we must practice bring true disciples of Christ by cleansing ourselves from sin, stop going against His ways and start living out a life of love for people. especially those who are disadvantaged or marginalised. am I truly living out a life of love that I preach? may the Lord open my eyes to those in need around me and seek justice by standing up for what is right and good.

Hebrews 13:18 NASB
Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things.

the writer request for prayer to ensure he conducts himself honourably in every situation. as leaders, it is highly important to have people praying for you to keep loving God and in holiness. all the more we must pray over our leaders constantly too.

Hebrews 13:15-16 NASB
Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased
God is pleased with our sacrifice of praise when in conjuction we continue to share gospel and doing good.
so on one end our lips praise Him on the other we are consistent to give praise to Him. may I not stop praising Him and forgetting doing good and sharing His turth.

29 Jan

Hebrews 13:8 NASB
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Jesus Christ and his character is constant forever and as we base our trust in Him who does not change like the seasons we have an unshakable basis of our faith. even when I face problems and obstacles I must not forget of His perfect character and promises towards me which is good.

28 Jan

Hebrews 12:27 NASB
This expression, "Yet once more," denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

when the Lord shakes the earth only that which is unshakable remains. the kingdom of God is unshakable and may I truly receive it so that I may not be found wanting when that day comes. that His rule and reign is truly in my life so that I will not have dependence on anything less than Him.

27 Jan

Hebrews 12:10-11 NASB
For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness. All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

God's goal of discipline is to form in us Christ likeness. His discipline is to bring about an enduring fruit which is borne out of temporary suffering. we must learn to accept His discipline in order to receive the fruit.

26 Jan

Hebrews 11:39-40 NASB
And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.

some by faith overcame and received the victory on earth while others by faith saw the victory that has been won on the cross and will receive even a better reward in heaven. by faith we believe that God is a god of victory, He has won the day and we can trust in the completedness and finality of the victory on the cross. giving us the power to conquere sin and overcome death. let our hope be firm on the victory that is in the Lord and live out a life of conquering faith.

Saturday, January 25, 2014

25 Jan

Hebrews 11:24-26 NASB
By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward.

by faith alot of the people of credited in Hebrews 11 for their faith chose a path of inconvenience impracticality or suffering yet holding firmly upon the promises of God. faith is following God where He leads us which is choosing what He knows is best over what the world says is best. God's ways are higher than ours so we must learn to be renwed in our mind and in faith decide on embracing His promise for our lives despite it being difficult choices to make.

Friday, January 24, 2014

24 Jan

Hebrews 11:13, 16 NASB
All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth... But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.

the faith of Abraham Sarah Isaac and Jacob caused them not to live in a worldly perspective as they truly believe in the kingdom of God that is in heaven. only when we truly have faith in God will we then start to live our lives differently where we do not hold dearly to the things in this world but onto the plans and promises God has for us. I do not fully live in such a manner and have to renew my mind and beliefs against the everlasting Word of God.

Thursday, January 23, 2014

23 Jan

Hebrews 11:6 NASB
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

faith is absolutely necessary for us to come to God and there is no other way except by grace received through faith. faith that trust in His character His word and His promises. faith is the pipeline in which His grace and blessings flow. when we read God's word we have to trust in who God is and what He says He will do to unlock the supernatural life. and to trust Him His word must take precedence over our thoughts and feelings.

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

22 Jan

Hebrews 10:35-36 NASB
Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.

we have to continue to keep the faith to receive our reward which is obtained through endurance. so faith in something/somebody trustworthy and faithful is the key to having endurance to face difficulties. I need to have faith that God will deliver me through difficult times when I face them and trust in His promises.

Tuesday, January 21, 2014

21 Jan

Hebrews 10:22-23 NASB
let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;

we can draw towards God with complete faith in His promise and not be double minded as it is dependent on the faithful and perfect character of God and not on our faithfulness. let us set this deep in our conviction that the Lord's promises are trustworthy and not waver upon that even when we face obstacles trials or difficulties. and be set free from doubting God when things do not go well.

do not doubt in darkness what God has shown you in the light

20 Jan

Hebrews 10:12-13 NASB
but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God , waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet.

the one time Christ died for us is sufficient and more than enough and right now He is waiting for all authority on earth to come under His authority. we know that Christ is more than enough for us and that all power and authority belongs to Him ultimately so we can trust Him fully in His sovereignty.

Sunday, January 19, 2014

19 Jan

Hebrews 10:4, 10 NASB
For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins... By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

the blood shed of animals can only temporarily appease the Lord but not remove our sins. but only the blood of Jesus Christ has the power to cleanse us totally from all sins. Jesus is the only way and His blood is the only method we can be set free from the bondange of sin. we must apply it daily in every situation of our lives and draw on His redemptive power. especially in the areas of our weaknesses we must draw upon His blood to overcome the temptation to sin.

Saturday, January 18, 2014

18 Jan

Hebrews 9:28 NASB
so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.

Christ will come back again and as we await His coming, we look forward to our salvation, to be called back into His arms. we have the hope of salvation in Christ Jesus so let us await that day with eager expectation and live our lives now reflecting who He is as no one knows when He is to return.

Friday, January 17, 2014

17 Jan

Hebrews 9:14 NASB
how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

only the blood of Jesus has the power and authority to cleanse us permanently and totally of the guilt, shame and consequence of our sins. no other sacrifice will do, nothing but the blood of God's precious son. let us apply the blood of Jesus daily in our lives in every situation to be truly set free from sin and our lives cleansed so to be used for the good work He has prepared for us.

16 Jan

Hebrews 9:8-10 NASB
The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place has not yet been disclosed while the outer tabernacle is still standing, which is a symbol for the present time. Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make the worshiper perfect in conscience, since they relate only to food and drink and various washings, regulations for the body imposed until a time of reformation.

the tabernacle made of human hands was only a shadow of what was to come. they do not make the believer set free of the guilt and sin. this was before Jesus came and so let us not fall into the trap of following mere traditions, rules and customs but never entering the greater and perfect tabernacle through Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 8:9 NASB
Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers  On the day when I took them by the hand  To lead them out of the land of Egypt ; For they did not continue in My covenant, And I did not care for them, says the Lord.

there is a new and faultless covenant in Jesus unlike the old covenant during the time of moses. so let us not remain in the old covenant of being bounded by the law and legalism but know the ultimate promise God has made through His son and be set free by the truth of His word. with His law written on our minds and hearts.

14 Jan

Hebrews 7:24-25 NASB
but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

He is unchanging as He will be the high priest until the end of days. so we can be sure that is able to save us through dying once for all the sins of the world. Jesus our high priest is everlasting and worthy of all honour and praise and worship. our God is a great and good God in whom we must place our full trust. Lord renew this truth in me each and every day as I awake that I may always have your praise on my lips.

13 Jan

Hebrews 7:15-16 NASB
And this is clearer still, if another priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become such not on the basis of a law of physical requirement, but according to the power of an indestructible life.

Jesus our high priest did not function according to the old law which did not make anyone perfect but superceed it as he came into this world. He introduced His law which is perfection and was guilty of no sin. in Him the power of a perfect life free from the destruction of sin can be found. let us draw to Jesus our High priest and upon the power to live an indestructible life and not live by the old standards but above them. let us not settle for anything less than the full measure of who Christ is.

Hebrews 7:7 NASB
But without any dispute the lesser is blessed by the greater.

blessings flow from the greater to the lesser. God is the greatest and He wants to pour out blessings upon blessings to us His creations.  are we coming to seek the greatest for blessings or seeking something lesser. let us draw back to our God who is the greatest for every need in our lives.

Hebrews 6:17-18 NASB
In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us.

we have an unshakable hope in that the God of the universe who is trustworthy has sworn to abraham and his descendents that He will bless us. God's promises to us will never ever fail as He is good and will fulfill His word therefore our hope in Him is secure and we will not be put to shame. and so we can come boldly and freely to His throne as sons and daughters through faith to seek our heavenly Father for His perfect and pleasing will for us.

Hebrews 6:7-8 NASB
For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God; but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned.

as our lives receive salvation and spiritual nourishment and result in fruitfulness, God blesses our life. however, if it does not bear fruit, we are are condemned and are not blessed, destined to face a fire. there must be spiritual fruits that are borne from receiving the living word. if it has no effect, we must face the consequence of missing out on the purposes and plans God has for our life. Lord make my heart a fruitful ground that fulfils the destiny and not remain in spiritual immaturity in my thoughts, words and actions.

Hebrews 5:8, 13-14 NASB
Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered... For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

when we practice and obey the Word that is when we mature in Christ. even Christ learn obedience through His suffering. so obedience is not easy but through that we grow in our walk and intimacy with Christ. let us choose to obey His Word and apply them to our lives though it may cost us and so that we may see that we will no longer be babies in our faith but strong man.

Hebrews 4:15-16 NASB
For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Jesus our priest was fully man as He was fully God and faced temptations yet through grace prevailed over sin. and so fully understanding our struggles and having overcome by the power of the spirit, we know that He can and will extend His hand to help us when we need Him. in Jesus demonstrated it was demonstrated that His power is more than sufficient for us and we must depend on His grace in order to live out a life of holiness that pleases Him.

Hebrews 4:2, 11 NASB
For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard... Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.

the word did not profit them as it was not received together with faith and they did not receive the rest promised due to disobedience. so receiving the word in faith must be paired with obedience for us to enter into the victory that Jesus has already won on the cross. true faith comes with total obedience if not its disobedience. so I must not doubt God's word and follow all His commands and the words He spoke. I must not let sin and laziness seep onto my life and accept it but know that I am called to be holy!

Hebrews 3:12-14 NASB
Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end,

we are to take care of our brothers and sisters in Christ through constant encouragement so that all of our hearts will not be hardened and turn away from the Lord. encouragement in the body of Christ plays a crucial role in us holding on to our assurance. let us this day find ways to encourage one another in the faith so that our faith is built up and not lost.

Hebrews 3:3 NASB
For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house.

the creator is worthy of more glory and honour than the created. we His created are here to bring all glory and honour to Him. may I not boast of anything in myself but give due praise to my Lord Jesus in all I do!

Hebrews 2:18 NASB
For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

our high priest Jesus is able to help us in our temptations as He has experienced temptation and overcome it without sinning. so we can be sure and have hope that the same power to overcome is in us as we draw near and seek the Lord. so when I am tempted to sin let me look towards Christ and focus on Him to draw strength from Him.

Hebrews 2:1, 3 NASB
For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it...  how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?...

we must be alert and be clear on the Word of God and the gospel of salvation we have heard to remain true to what it says so that we will not neglect it. it must be a conscious effort on our part to pay special attention to it and not be lazy and just receive it flippantly.

Hebrews 9:27-28 NASB
And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.

Christ died once for all the sins of the world and paid the ultimate price so we can be confident in His finishing work on the cross and not live a life trapped in the power of sin. and so we must live out in eager expectation and desire to present Him our lives surrendered when He returns to deliver us into His kingdom. so lets look towards Christ and His coming and live in the light of that, a holy and acceptable life already redeemed by His blood.

1 Corinthians 15:10 NASB
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

by His grace He made us all distinctly who we are today with all our strengths, weaknesses, experiences & influence where we are in a position to bring him glory. we can make use of who we are today and by His continued grace to continue to live out a surrendered life to glorify Him. this starts from having a real and intimate relationship with Him to know Him in order to experience this grace.
